My collars were supposed to go towards surgery and vet care for my beloved Rudy, but my big precious boy didn’t make it long enough for that to happen.
Rudy and two other Greyhounds were found dumped along the river in a small town several miles from where I live. When he came in to our adoption group, he was starved and had a lot of medical problems. My husband and I took him as a foster but fell in love and we adopted him.
We had Rudy for two years and in that time he underwent two surgeries and so many vet visits and tests that I lost count, but none of the four vets he saw were ever able to find out what was causing his problems.
His incision wouldn’t heal and continued to cause him problems. There was something showing on his chest x-rays that none of the doctors could figure out. He had just started on a long term round of anti-biotic and if that didn’t work he was going to have exploratory surgery, but his body just couldn’t handle any more.
We were told that he went peacefully and for that we are so thankful, but we miss him so much.
My collars are now going to help pay off the thousands of dollars that we spent on his vet care as well as the vet care of our other beloved dogs. So, I offer to you my collars, in honor and in memory of my big, beautiful Rudy. Run in peace Rudy.
Thank you for looking.
